BCG environment and carbon reduction

     The association focuses on implementing the principles of the Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG), which is a national policy of Thailand, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG13 Climate Action, SDG14 Life Below Water, SDG15 Life on Land), in the tuna industry and pet food industry, such as using unused tuna to produce pet food to add value to the product. The association has carried out actions to promote and drive the operations of its members in terms of carbon reduction, as follows:

1. Follow up on relevant laws, regulations, and rules, publicize to members so that they are aware and can be correctly implemented.
2. Publicize seminars, organize training to provide knowledge to members. Including being a speaker in various forums
3. Study the assessment guidelines for Carbon Footprint Baseline in the industry
4. Organize CSR activities for society and conserve the environment to coexist sustainably, such as collecting waste along the sea

  • 2023-2024 Collect and analyze BCG and Carbon Footprint Organization data to be a baseline for the tuna and pet food industry
  • 2025-2030 Tuna/pet food industry reduces carbon by 40%, in line with the Thai strategy
