On Monday, 8 September 2025, the Thai Tuna Industry Association (TTIA) and the Thai Pet Food Association (TPFA) participated in the major annual seminar of the Thailand Chamber of Commerce, themed “Unlocking New Growth.” The event was organized by the Chamber’s Association Promotion and Development Committee alongside the Foreign Chambers of Commerce Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) and the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce.
Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Senior Board Member of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Thailand Chamber of Commerce, delivered the welcome remarks and congratulated the awardees.
Mr. Vuttikrai Leewiraphan, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, gave a keynote address titled “How Thai Imports and Exports Move Forward in an Unfamiliar World.” He emphasized two key points:
Continuous innovation and adoption of technology are vital to enhancing the value of our goods and services.
Trade negotiations with the United States have been ongoing, with the Thai government prioritizing farmers. These negotiations represent a crucial opportunity for structural economic improvement.
Additionally:
Trade diplomats play a significant role in identifying new markets and restoring relationships with existing partners.
The 19 % tariff (Rt 19 %) is just the starting point of negotiations, and Thailand will continue to press forward.
Later in the evening, association representatives went on stage to receive the awards:
Ms.Napaporn Pataratadawong, Treasurer of TTIA and also Foreign Purchasing Manager at Pattaya Food Industry Co., Ltd., accepted the award for “Outstanding Trade Association – Group 2” (Associations established for 6–15 years). TTIA was established on 29 July 2013.
Mr.Voravee Eangchuan, Secretary-General of TPFA and General Manager at Southeast Asian Packaging and Canning Co., Ltd., accepted the award for “Outstanding Trade Association – Group 1” (Associations established for 1–5 years). TPFA was established on 7 October 2019.
